If you label at volume, you label from a roll. Roll format is what makes automatic application possible, and once a line is running the label has to behave identically thousands of times over. Roll label production is as much about mechanical consistency as it is about print quality.

Winding Specification Matters

A roll that is technically well printed but wound the wrong way will stop your line. We need three things from you: core diameter (commonly 40mm or 76mm), maximum outer diameter your machine accepts, and winding direction — which of the eight standard orientations your applicator expects. Send us your applicator specification and we will wind to match. If you are not sure, a photo of an existing roll on the machine usually tells us everything.

Materials

  • Coated paper: economical, for dry goods at ambient temperature
  • PP opaque white: waterproof and durable, for chilled and wet environments
  • Clear PP and PET: the no-label look on glass and plastic
  • Thermal and thermal transfer: for labels overprinted with variable data on your own line
  • Metallised film: reflective finishes for premium positioning

Consistency Across Long Runs

On a run of hundreds of thousands, small drifts matter — colour shifting between reels, die wear rounding a corner, tension changes affecting registration. We control colour to Pantone across the run and check reels through production rather than only at the start, because a drift found at reel forty is a drift you cannot unprint.

Our Process

1. Machine specification

Applicator make, core size, maximum roll diameter, winding direction and labels per roll.

2. Material and adhesive

Based on your product environment and application conditions, including temperature at the moment of application.

3. Proof and trial reel

For a new die or a new applicator we supply a short trial reel to run on your line before committing to full production.

4. Production and packing

Printing, die-cutting, rewinding to specification, and packing to protect the reels in transit and storage.

Why Reklart

We have supplied roll labels to food producers and manufacturers since 2019, and we know that a label which stops a production line costs far more than the label itself. That is why we ask about your machine before we quote, and why we would rather send a trial reel than assume. We can also hold artwork and stock for scheduled repeat runs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you need from me to quote?
Label size, material, quantity, core size and winding direction. A photo of your current roll covers most of it.

Can you match our existing label exactly?
Usually yes. Send a physical sample and we will match material, size, die and colour.

Can you hold stock for scheduled deliveries?
Yes, and many clients prefer this — one production run, released in batches as needed.

What are typical minimums?
Roll work has a setup cost, so it suits medium and high volumes. For small quantities sheet labels are often more economical, and we will say so.
